Man Stabbed to Death in Pacoima

Police are searching for two people who they believe are connected to a deadly stabbing during a music video shoot in Pacoima Saturday.

A man was stabbed to death just before 2:30 a.m. in the 12400 block of Bernadette Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department Foothill Division.

Detectives said a 23-year-old man was stabbed twice in the neck in the middle of the street.

"He was just unconscious, man. He was just unconscious," said Tony Garcia, 19, who had blood stains on his jeans from trying to help the victim.

The video shoot had become a party, and investigators said the party had become out of control when the parents of a 20-year-old, who were supervising the gathering, tried to shut it down.

"People that own the house thought it was getting too big and tried to close down the party to get people to leave," LAPD Sgt. Fred Cueto said.

A fight broke out when a group of uninvited guests in their 20s were asked to leave.

"Some people came with masks," said Samantha Diaz, who was at the shoot to support her friend who lives in the house.

The fight spilled into the street, where the man was stabbed.

One of the uninvited guests "took (the mask) off and people saw his face," Diaz said.

Investigators said the victim may have gotten caught in the middle while trying to break up the fight.

He was found with stab wounds, unresponsive on the driveway. He later died from his injuries at a hospital.

Detectives from the LAPD's Foothill Division were still processing the crime scene Saturday morning where part of Bernadette Street was shut down.

The knife used in the stabbing had not been found Saturday morning.

The coroner has not yet identified the victim, and police are still looking for the suspects.
